If you worked in uranium mining, milling, or transported uranium ore, you may qualify for a $100,000 federal compensation payment through the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA).
To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
You were employed in a uranium mine, mill, or transported uranium ore in an eligible state;
Your employment occurred between January 1, 1942, and December 31, 1990 for at least 12 months (either consecutive or total),
OR
You were exposed to 40 or more working level months of radiation during that time;
AND
After this period of exposure, you were diagnosed with one of the following health conditions:
Primary lung cancer
Nonmalignant respiratory illness
Primary renal cancer
Chronic kidney disease (such as nephritis or radiation-related kidney damage)
